Basic Functions Mentor/Trainer (M/T) to the Ministry of the National Guard Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs), and soldiers. Assists in the design, development, and facilitation of collective training events from Platoon to Company-size units that set the conditions for the effective conduct of troop leading procedures (TLP) during the rehearsals, preparation, and execution of full spectrum operations. Mentors-trains collective unit tasks during the conduct of Situational Training Exercises (STXs), Field Training Exercises (FTXs), Tactical Exercises Without Troops (TEWTs), Exercise Evaluations (EXEVALs), and Combat Training Center (CTC) rotations. Provides support during the facilitation of an Observer/Controller-Trainer (OC/T) Program, and when required, may perform OC/T duties. Ensures that the training complies with MNG doctrine. Assists the Team Chief as required.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Designs, develops, and facilitates unit collective battle-focused training.
Develops training products such as programs of instruction, lesson plans, training aids, and other products as required.
Mentors and trains Company NCOs and soldiers in support of maneuver training or as directed by the Training Team Chief.
Trains NCOs and soldiers, focusing on Troop Leading Procedures (TLP), Pre-Combat Checks, and Inspections.
Guides, coaches, and assists during the train up, preparation, and execution phases of a unit's STX/FTX/CPXs.
Mentors and trains the company-level operations order development process. Familiar with the Military Decision Making Process (MDMP.)
Be proficient in Observer Controller-Trainer (OC-T) duties, to include conducting OC-T training presentations.
Be knowledgeable in analog command post exercises.
Be knowledgeable of the Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System (MILES).
Be knowledgeable of the current doctrine.
Assists the Team Chief in the preparation of the After Action Review report.
Perform other duties as directed by the Team Chief.
B. Independence: Performs his duties under the supervision of the Team Chief.
C. Supervisory Responsibilities:1 x Interpreter/Translator.
A. Educational Level: Former SSG to 1SG with combat arms (Armor, Infantry, Engineer, Field Artillery, or Special Forces) experience required. Advanced Leader’s Course required; Senior Leader’s Course and 1SG Academy graduate desired. Signal or military police knowledge and experience accepted.
B. Experience: Minimum of eight (8) years of tactical training and operations experience with maneuver units at company and battalion. Previous Combat Training Center, Joint Readiness Training Center, operational deployment, or foreign military trainer experience preferred. Combination of military and job site experience accepted.
C. Specific knowledge, skill, and ability, requirements: Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Must be able to interface with U.S. Army and Ministry of the National Guard, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Officers. Possesses knowledge of current U.S. Military tactics and training doctrine. Possess a valid driver’s license. Computer literate: MS Windows 10, MS Office 2010.
