Basic Functions Responsible for providing evaluation, advice and assistance to the Brigade and Battalion Medical personnel. Plans, coordinates, and instructs medical subject matter based on the specific needs of each unit being trained. Assesses unit performance in conducting Combat Health Services support operations. Coordinates logistics requirements to support unit training.
Major Duties and Responsibilities A. Duties/Responsibilities:
Coach and Mentor brigade and battalion medical personnel concerning medical matters.
Coordinate and assist in efforts for the development of programs for the medical unit sustainment training and modernization program.
Maintains accountability for training aids, equipment, and other contractor property as required.
Ensures maintenance of documentation and records concerning execution of statement of work requirements and contractor initiatives for training, coaching and assistance to MNG affecting branch activities.
Coordinates with the Brigade and Battalions to identify and assist resolution of issues for training and training development actions.
Ensures training programs and recommendations focus on US government guidelines for individual training, material readiness, staff coordination, planning and reporting, military education, and collective training.
Prepares, reviews, and revises lesson plans and instructional material for unit and individual training programs.
Serves as a subject matter expert for field medical unit techniques, tactics, and procedures taught to National Guard personnel.
Prepares and uses instructional and training support materials based on specific unit training requirements as necessary.
Provides instruction on combat health support operations, training management, unit-level medical readiness sustainment procedures, and related staff duties and responsibilities as part of a training assistance team as required.
Monitors effectiveness indicators related to the efficacy of the unit training programs, and recommends courses of action to correct shortcomings or deficiencies.
Performs other tasks as required.
B. Independence: Works under the direct supervision of the Chief Medical Trainer.
C. Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises 1 Assistant Trainer
Minimum Qualifications A. Education Level: Bachelor’s degree preferred. Current Emergency Medical Technician and Basic Lifesaver certifications are required. Senior Leaders Course Graduate. An equivalent combination of college level courses, military and job site experience may be substituted.
B. Experience: Former U.S. Military Senior Non-Commissioned Officer with ten years’ experience in field combat health service support operations.
C. Specific knowledge, skill, ability and requirements: Must have knowledge of tactical combat casualty care concept. Must be familiar with U.S. military field medical operations. Must have the ability to plan, prepare, execute, and assess medical training and performance. Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office-based programs. A valid driver’s license is required. Former Senior Non-Commissioned Officer.
