Basic Functions ​Reports to the Department Manager. Acts as the Department Manager in his/her absence. Responsible for all aspects of administration, management, leadership,

operations, business development and client relationships to support Vinnell Arabia translation requirements. Responsible for systematic and recurring translation

operations that produce the highest degree of consistency, quality, accuracy and adherence to production schedule baselines. Coordinates with Section Managers and client

relationship officers for projects and tasks and customer engagements. Coordinates with Vinnell Arabia leadership outside the Department to meet their translation

requirements. Maintains personnel and equipment accountability status. Coordinates internally and externally as necessary to execute the duties of this position.

Major Duties and Responsibilities ​A. Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Leads, manages and supervises all aspects of translation processes and production. Ensures on-time delivery and customer satisfaction for all projects in

accordance with the Performance Work Statement, contracts and other supporting metrics.

  1. Supervises translation phases in accordance with production objectives; performs to the production schedule baselines.

  2. Supervises all aspects of Quality Assurance and Control Quality to ensure translation projects meet quality requirements.

  3. Oversees and supervises aspects of Vinnell Arabia administration for the TB; provides the leadership and management to ensure the team meets its requirements as


  1. Incorporates all aspects of Machine Translation System (SDL TRADOS) technology and integrates the machine capabilities with manual translation as directed.

  2. Prepares and executes business development plans, client outreach, and contract diversification strategies as directed.

  3. Maintains status of personnel and equipment; assists and provides quality assurance; prepares and schedules meetings, briefings and special venues to meet

administrative report suspense’s.

  1. Prepares reports; tracks, reviews and admin and operational reports as directed.

  2. Supervises Knowledge Management, data backup, and protection.

  3. Supervises implementation and compliance with Vinnell Arabia (VA) policies and procedures (SOPs), and compliance with all relevant certifications under the

International Organization for Standardization.

  1. Performs other mission duties, as required by the manager.

B. Independence: Acts under the direct supervision of Translation Department Manager.

C. Supervisory Responsibilities: Acts as the DepartmentManager in her/his absence and supervises section managers, the Chief of Operations, Client Relationship Officers,

and others as directed.

Minimum Qualifications A. Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree is a plus and PHD is a significant advantage. Degrees in the areas of Management, Project Management, Translation, Quality Management Systems, or International Relations are advantageous. Professional proficiency in the Arabic language is required to facilitate all aspects of management, business development and client relationships. Additional language proficiency / certifications, such as French, German, Korean, Russian or Chinese are advantageous. Previous job site experience may substitute, as required.

B. Experience: Experience in positions of leadership, management, business development, quality assurance, security cooperation and international relations are preferred. Previous experience in translation is helpful. Military experience as a senior officer is prefer.

C. Specific Knowledge, Skill, Ability, Requirements: Knowledge of supervisory principles and management techniques; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; ability to deal effectively with people. Must be computer literate. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite software and should be proficient in Excel. Proficiency with project management software is a plus. Knowledge of negotiations and influencing techniques, cross-cultural communication / management is advantageous.

D. Other Specific Requirements: Must have US driver’s license.
