IBM Power Subsystem Qualification Engineering Intern in ROCHESTER, Minnesota

Job Description

IBM Systems, Supply Chain Engineering group is looking for an intern in Rochester, MN. Candidates must be outgoing and interested in gaining hands-on experience in development of new software tools/utilities and modifying existing programs in support of storage device qualification activities. Candidates should possess communication skills to work with a World Wide Engineering Team.

Responsibilities include: perform qualification activities and characterizations for custom Power Supplies, Voltage Regulators and Battery Technologies for IBM Power Brand and storage systems; work with Qualification Engineers to define and establish the qualification test requirements including programming, tester automation, and results analysis; participate in the Failure Analysis (FA) and debug process on qualification samples, IBM Manufacturing, and client failures; work with Power Lab Engineers and Technicians by setting up tester conigurations and control software; interface with Development Engineering on optimal design for manufacturability and system level qualification requirements; work with suppliers to ensure they are meeting IBM specifications for quality, reliability,

Candidate should be a student enrolled in a degree program in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Korn Shell/Perl or Python Scripting

  • C++, Linux
