Job Description

Position Summary:

This position is integral to the alignment of operations finance and general accounting. The holder of this position is responsible for overall accuracy and timeliness of the Rochester financial results, supporting both the Costa Rica accounting team and Rochester and Monterrey manufacturing sites with tools and processes to enable effective management of the business as well as meeting all corporate reporting requirements.

Successful candidate will demonstrate effective experience in the following key areas:

  • Managing diverse teams

  • Maintaining effective internal control environment in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley

  • General accounting in accordance with US GAAP

  • Partnering with functional leaders, manufacturing and supply chain management

  • Implementing and maintaining effective financial reporting processes

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general accounting processes as performed in an offsite location

  • Create, simplify and improve processes by accounting and finance teams

  • Support site finance teams with solving data integrity issues and serve as an expert in key reporting and consolidation

  • Work closely with the operations finance team to ensure the integrity of the financial results and proper controls

  • Ownership of the revenue recognition process

  • Support Sr. Director, Finance with preparation of key monthly and quarterly business review materials and outlooks

  • Lead the inventory controls process

  • Support regular balance sheet review process for the Division

  • Support ad-hoc reporting/ projects as well as being a resource for the business unit on various accounting and reporting issues

Preferred characteristics:

  • Knowledge of commonly used accounting concepts, practices and procedures (including Sarbanes-Oxley and GAAP) required

  • Solid understanding of Financial Statements

  • The successful candidate is personable, highly ethical and thrives in a collaborative environment

  • He/she has excellent proactive communication capabilities, identifying and addressing issues via candid dialogue

  • Track record of forging solid and positive professional relationships with peers and upper management and can operate effectively in a matrix reporting structure

Job Requirements:

  • An undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting is required; an MBA or CPA is strongly desired

  • An ideal candidate will possess excellent academic credentials and a strong aptitude in financial analysis as well as US GAAP

  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities

  • Experience with operations is desired

  • 3-5 years of progressively responsible business experience

  • Strong knowledge of Excel (i.e., financial models and analysis), PowerPoint, and Hyperion is preferred

  • Experience with ERP Systems (preferably SAP)

  • Up to 30% travel
