Participates in business development activities. Develops and leads detailed solutions for moderately complex projects.
6-8 years of experience relevant to this position including 3-4 years consulting experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to build rapport with team members and clients. Ability to travel as needed.

Brief Posting Description:
Within Oracle NATAG Database and Infrastructure Consulting Organization, the practice provides database platform architecture and delivery services to ensure successful implementation of customer solutions involving the Oracle Infrastructure, Oracle Database and Oracle Applications Unlimited product suites.
Infrastructure Subject Matter Experts are responsible for defining the architecture and solutions to configure and manage large Oracle Enterprises, including the Oracle RDBMS (R12, and R19) and Oracle Applications Unlimited – Oracle EBusiness Suite application, PeopleSoft, Siebel or JD Edwards on Oracle Engineered Systems
Services include architecture, administration, patching, maintenance, capacity planning, installations, performance tuning, network, techstack upgrades and designing solutions to meet maximum high availability requirements for clients on Oracle Engineered Systems.
Job duties are varied and complex requiring independent judgment. May have project lead role or individual contributor role responsibilities. A BS or BA in related fields or equal experience is required. Minimum of 7-10 years overall experience in a technical role as a System Administrator. Technical experience with Oracle Database and Applications architecture is preferred.
Additionally, two years consulting or project experience in multi-dimensional issue resolution with Oracle Database and/or Oracle technology. Must have the ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written and the ability to build rapport with team members and clients.
Required to travel nationally with some international travel
Implementing solutions to meet client’s performance and MAA/HA requirements.
Administrating Exadata systems software and tools in accordance with the client’s requirements.
Administrating and patching Oracle Engineered Systems
Conducting performance optimization to ensure client SLAs are met.
Evaluating, monitoring and maintaining the client’s system readiness
Working to ensure that software security and integrity are maintained.
Developing and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge specific Oracle products and services.
5 years experience of Oracle Engineered Systems
3 years experience of Oracle Linux
The successful candidate should possess the following skills sets
Enterprise Class System Design and Operations
Oracle Exalogic, Oracle Private Cloud Appliance (OPCA) with OVM for x86 configuration
Oracle Exadata, Oracle Database Appliance (ODA)
Oracle Virtual Machine for x86, with Oracle Linux system administration
Oracle Solaris 10/11 System Administration with specific experience in designing, implement and tuning PDOMs, LDOMs, Zones, and virtual networking in a large-scale complex Unix Environment
OS upgrade and patching experience, new server builds, networking and storage configuration, OS shell scripting and automation
Strong networking experience, ethernet and Infiniband
ZFS or FS1 Storage Experience
Experience with planning, applying and managing patching activities in complex environment
Familiarity with data centers, and working with data center engineers
Troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
OVM for SPARC or OVM of X86
Oracle Solaris 11 System Administration
Oracle Linux System Administration
Understanding of SPARC chip architecture
Oracle Exadata Certifications and other industry certifications are desired.
Perform server audits and performance assessments.
Administer Exadata/Exalogic environments.
Tune the system to ensure optimum use of resources.
Institute operational procedures to ensure the client’s operating environment meets SLAs.
Ensure the system architecture is able to meet the client’s ongoing growth needs.
Proactively maintain knowledge of Oracle’s current and future products/ solutions offerings.
Generate the relevant delivery material, e.g. documents, engagement summaries, white papers, in order to develop and share knowledge with customers and internal Teams.
