US Foods Director, Organizational Change Management (OCM) in Rosemont, Illinois

The Director, Organizational Change Management (OCM) will lead the development of a comprehensive organizational effectiveness and change management strategy for US Foods. Working directly with the VP of Talent Management and the HR Leadership Team, this individual will work to enhance organizational capability and work towards creating a high-performance, sustainable organization that meets its strategic and operational goals. This role will lead a team of OD professionals and will also act as a coach for senior leaders in helping them fulfill the role of change sponsor. This role will also support project teams in integrating change management activities into their project plans.

Areas of focus include:

• Change management/change leadership consulting/training

• Org design consulting/training (e.g., Role clarification, decision rights)

• M&A change management consulting/training

• Team effectiveness

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the Organizational Effectiveness function; Lead, manage, and develop a team of experienced OD professionals to achieve talent management goals.

  • Work closely with functional senior leaders and the executive leadership team to identify change management needs and design programs for implementation across the organization.

  • Facilitate/lead change and transition efforts in various parts of the organization to ensure identified goals are fully achieved.

  • Facilitate/support/consult on organizational structure design, redesign efforts to ensure the realization of intended business objectives.

  • Identify and apply a structured methodology and lead change management activities - Apply a change management process and tools to create a strategy to support adoption of the changes required by a project or initiative.

  • Initiate, support and facilitate endeavors to enhance organizational effectiveness through interventions based on structure, programs, processes, and systems aimed at gaining a sustainable competitive advantage.

  • Actively promote the assimilation of Organizational Effectiveness and Change Management competencies in the HR Business Partner organization through education, partnership, and consultation.

  • Leverage existing diagnostic tools such as Employee Survey, Performance Review, and Human Resource Metrics etc. and develop additional methodologies to support effective organizational decision making related to Human Resources.

  • Provide team coaching as required to help drive high performance teams.

  • Develop and maintain s menu of Organizational Development interventions to support team effectiveness as a critical component of business effectiveness.

  • Develop exceptional relationships and strong lines of communication across all businesses and the HR function to allow for effective, on-going collaboration.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training :

Bachelor’s Degree required. Masters Degree in Organizational Development, or related field strongly preferred

Related Experience/Requirements:

Qualified candidates must possess a minimum of the following:

  • Minimum of 10 years experience with demonstrated success in orchestrating organizational development and change is required.

  • Experience in the design and conduct of Organizational Development interventions such as team building, workshops etc. is required.

  • Exceptional Communication skills and experience in working with Senior Leadership

  • Prior experience in large, multi-function, and cross geographic organizations.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities :

  • A proven team builder and a team player with strong relationship building skills with various stakeholders at all levels.

  • An adaptable leader who can navigate the organization through complex and diverse situations; comfortable with ambiguity.

  • A proven people leader able to coach, develop, and motivate team, and able to align organizational design as needs change.

  • Strong executive presence and outstanding communication skills.

  • Strong business acumen.

  • Open to new ideas and possibilities - demonstrates the ability and willingness to move outside of their “comfort zone” to pursue new opportunities. Encourages others to do the same.
