What’s the role?

This a role that sits within our Operations Landscape Management (OLM) team, where, as OLM Business Analyst, you’ll be responsible for the smooth operations of applications and their related back-end technology. With a focus on servers and databases, you’ll seek opportunities and resolve problems to reduce incident volume and provide speedy and quality problem resolution.

You’ll rise to the challenge of assisting in end-to-end application operations delivery, bringing your expertise to help with sizeable and large-scale application landscapes, which require specialist insight and analytical support, across all incident, problem, and change related activities. Always with a view to how changes can drive improved business performance.

More specific duties will include:

  • Driving incident/problem resolution by assisting in key operational activities in terms of delivery, fixes, and supportability with operations staff and/suppliers.

  • Coordinating disaster recovery plans and test execution for the critical business applications within the landscape.

  • Ensuring regulatory and compliance controls are embedded in landscape operations and assist with evidence collection.

  • Ensuring operation runbooks and support guidelines are produced and maintained.

Finally, it goes without saying, you’ll be a natural communicator and negotiator, able to nurture strong stakeholder relationships at all levels, across cultures, and often virtually.

Requirements:

What we need from you

We’re keen to talk to men and women with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and extensive experience in IT, preferably in application development and support, and project management. Along with being a self-starter, with excellent analysis and problem-solving skills, we’d also hope to see as much of the following on your CV:

  • An ability to deliver results, driving delivery excellence through influence and team working.

  • Experience with SQL basics and MS Windows; ideally also Cloud Basics (Azure) and data language basics like Python and Power BI.

  • Proven experience in dealing with conflict and ambiguity effectively, and an ability to facilitate working in a global environment.

  • An understanding of business support requirements.

  • An ability to handle concurrent tasks with appropriate priority.

  • Knowledge of the IT business environment will be an advantage.
