PRIMARY FUNCTION:

State the primary function or overall purpose of your position.

Product marketing management responsibility focused on Eaton’s Electronic Controls and Software products, primarily Pro-FX™ but to include other products as the portfolio expands in EMEA Hydraulics. Key responsibilities include product management, product marketing, product life cycle management, promotion, and product strategy for the outlined product lines on a regional basis. The Product Manager will work closely with Global Product Category Leads, the Eaton Sales Team and functional leaders to develop and implement growth strategies to drive product profitability, volume, mix, market share improvement, and price in EMEA.

This role has primary responsibilities for product promotion, product awareness, communication of product capabilities, product management, information availability and reliability, development, and pricing execution for OEM customers and distribution awareness in EMEA.

List the essential functions (i.e. key responsibilities with expected end results) which must be accomplished in order to fulfill the purpose of your position as described above.

A. Focus on assigned product portfolio and work in close conjunction with the Global Product Category Leads to execute regional growth strategies

B. Develop a comprehensive technical understanding of the portfolio and how it can be applied, translate this knowledge into marketing and promotional material

C. Acquire & retain comprehensive knowledge of competitive positioning and competitor strategies

D. Lead development of regional product and services strategies including positioning; managing product, segment & channel mix; and developing targeted value propositions while monitoring and addressing product life cycles

E. Provide leadership for assigned products’ core pricing strategy, regionally

F. Monitor and regularly communicate profitability and growth for assigned product line and recommend changes to meet Eaton top and bottom line objectives

G. Lead regional Product Growth Team to propose prioritization of Engineering development activities

H. Proactively engage with the Eaton Sales Team, Distributors and customers within region to promote and support the sale of portfolio products. Provide training and tools to empower regional teams to provide both commercial and technical support

I. Lead the development and deployment of marketing programs to drive growth for the assigned product lines

J. Act as a key team member during new product development within the portfolio, including managing and executing launch activities

K. Act as key commercial marketing resource for distributor events, trade shows and other related National/International forums. Participation in Trade Associations.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements

w Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Engineering from an accredited university

w 8-10 years of industry experience

w Domain expertise in the fields of Electronic Controls and Software and / or Electro-Hydraulic Power and Motion Control Solutions

Preferred Experience

w 2 years’ experience providing marketing support and organizing and driving channel programs

w 5 years of experience in designing, developing or selling mobile and or industrial control systems

Knowledge of machinery control system design

w MBA preferred

w Demonstrable appreciation of graphical software development

w Gets results through collaboration

w Professional presence and Interpersonal effectiveness

w Ability to clearly breakdown and communicate issues and opportunities across organization

w Business acumen and vision

w Strong sales/marketing experience and technical savvy
