Current Need

The McKesson IT Data Center Facilities (DCF) group is in need of a candidate who can support the operations and maintenance needs of McKesson’s Enterprise Data Centers in the Sacramento CA area. This includes maintaining all Data Center critical infrastructures through direct service as well as managing vendors in fulfilling contracted maintenance activities on schedule and in adherence to proper processes and standards. Candidates must have experience in electrical design, PLC/HMI programming, server management, as well as possess strong project management skills. The candidate must also possess strong inter-personnel and problem-solving skills and must be able to work in a team environment. Project management and cost tracking skills are a must.

Position Description

Primarily responsible for supporting the maintenance and operations of critical facility systems which support McKesson Enterprise Data Centers; this includes but is not limited to: Uninterruptable Power Supplies, Chilled Water Systems, DX Systems, Generators, Automated Switch Gear, Power Distribution Units, Security and Surveillance Systems, Water Detection Systems, and BMS/DCIM Systems. Manages/determines the scope and frequency of maintenance activities utilizing industry best practices in a collaborative team environment. Designs, supports and operates an enterprise solution which remotely monitors environmental and mechanical states of critical environments within McKesson Enterprise Data Centers, Distribution Centers, and critical Office environments. Must be able to review vendor capability and develop processes.

Minimum Requirements

2 years Electrical Engineering experience

Critical Skills

  • 2 years Data Center Facility Management experience

  • 2 Electrical theory, design and troubleshooting

  • 2 HVAC theory, design and troubleshooting

  • 2 Experience in PLC logic and programming and HMI graphics or SCADA programming, preferably with the Wonderware application

  • Data Center Facility Management, Maintenance

  • Vendor Management

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • AutoCAD

  • BMS/DCIM systems (ALC, InTouch, Medasis, Andover, etc.)

  • Fluid Dynamics

  • Incident management systems (Remedy, etc.)

  • Working knowledge of flexible automation.

  • PE Licensed in CA a plus

BS degree in EE or ME
