Product Manager/Strategy 4-ProdDev

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Security is a fast-growing, fast moving unit focused on delivering services that facilitate secure infrastructure and applications. The OCI Security team is looking for an experienced IC4 Product Manager to drive various security services to market.

Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Provide strategic security vision across a wide range of cloud security services

  • Influence executives

  • Drive requirements into cross-functional teams

  • Drive internal Oracle teams to adopt security services

  • Manage key service product lifecycle, strategy and roadmap execution

  • Lead voice-of-customer engagements to discover end user, market and competitive use case requirements into a differentiated offering for security services

  • Translate customer and market analysis into a product definition that delivers on high-value customer requirements with a differentiated product and user experience

  • Define stories and acceptance criteria, prioritize features, provide business context to product development from concept to and subsequent launches

  • Enable Product Marketing by developing content to drive customer awareness, accelerate customer engagements and deliver product

  • Define, develop and deliver pricing, packaging and positioning strategies

  • Work with Release Management to ensure the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure platform cross-service dependencies are aligned for the services

You should be willing to initiate interdepartmental activities to discover needs and sell internally the value of these security services. You will analyze and integrate external customer needs and provide input to product direction and requirements. You will work with User Interface and API design teams to address these requirements. You will act as the voice of the customer in sprint retrospectives to ensure needs are being met.

To succeed in this role, the candidate should be comfortable:

Candidate credentials should include:

  • Multiple years of technical product manager experience at a Cloud Service Provider

  • Authored several product definitions

  • Built pricing and estimated cost for at least one cloud service

  • Active participation in a major go-to-market campaign

  • Incorporated machine learning into security

  • Working with services at scale

  • Strong network background

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
