Role Overview:

The Payments, Virtual Solutions, Innovation, & Community Banking (PVSI & CB) business group was created recently to leverage and build on our strengths to deliver compelling and game changing experiences for our customers. The launch of this business division brought together six lines of businesses: Consumer Credit Solutions, Deposit Products Group, Innovations, Operations, Treasury Management and Wells Fargo Virtual Channels. The PVSI & Community Banking (PVSI & CB) technology organization is focused on bringing together technology teams across the firm focused on delivering the next generation of payments capabilities, advancing digital offerings, enabling innovation to develop new customer experiences & products and enhancing branch, contact center & ATM technology.

The PVSI & CB groups play a critical role in enabling our business partners through technology solutions. The organizational models for these teams are designed to more effectively manage our portfolio of applications, govern enterprise IT, manage risk, simplify our technology offerings, and execute on our business partners’ priorities with enhanced time to market. The Business Services teams supporting these groups are a critical component of the EIT CIO (Enterprise Information Technology) operating model and are focused on providing business services to team members, support partners and Line of Business partners in conjunction with the Enterprise CIO Business Services organization.

Technical Lead – AI NLP Services Development – App System Engineer 5 is a versatile and highly motivated individual who act as a Technical expert in the design, stewardship, expansion, innovation, maintenance and support of the AI Conversation Gateway, NLP Services, and AI Orchestration App. Understanding of fundamentals of NLP techniques such as Tokenization, language Identification, part of speech tagging, named entity recognition and practical experience in training/deploying NLP Models in runtime environment is important. You will drive continuous process improvement, and increase the efficiency and quality of AI project deliveries. You will identify and implement creative ways to monitor and continuously improve performance and best practices. You will meet regularly with management/technical leaders/business partners to gather feedback, plan future enhancements, set targets and set specific goals for improving the overall Enterprise Artificial Intelligence platforms.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Work with a team of Applications System engineers and Business Analysts, while partnering closely with multiple lines of business, WFBOT – Chatbot/Virtual Assistant and Machine Learning development, Test engineers, and a wide range of other teams involved working on the release.

  • Develop Model as Service to enable NLP API's for integration with other banking internal systems and front end channels such as WellsFargo.com, Teamworks, etc.,

  • Implement tools and best practices for release, environment, and configuration management to improve deploy success rates. This includes the new SDLC process and enterprise BAR tools.

  • Act as a strong advocate for quality and reusability in the Services.

  • May provide direction and guidance to less experienced staff, requires hands on development and experience leading a small team of developers.

  • Adopt to leverage Enterprise architectural principles, including SEAR

  • Work closely with Agile Scrum Master, contribute in scrum ceremonies such as the sprint planning meeting, Daily Scrum, sprint review meeting, and sprint retrospective meeting. Active participation in artifacts such as product increment, product backlog, sprint backlog and lead end of sprint Demo to all key scrum stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of application development and implementation experience

  • 3+ years of Web Services experience

  • 3+ years of leadership experience

  • 2+ years of experience in Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Distributed Computing, Chatbot, and Virtual Assistant

Desired Qualifications:

  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • A BS/BA degree or higher in science or technology

  • 6+ years of Java experience

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Outstanding problem solving and decision making skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of multiple source code version control systems in working with branches, tags and labels

  • Ability to work effectively in virtual environment where key team members and partners are in various time zones and locations

  • Knowledge and understanding of database design/modeling logical and physical

  • Knowledge and understanding of project management methodologies: used in waterfall or Agile development projects

  • Knowledge and understanding of application ownership: including responsibility for development, maintenance, and ongoing support

  • 2+ years of experience in Java or Python NLP machine learning frameworks such DL4J or ND4J

  • Knowledge and understanding of DevOps principles

  • Knowledge and understanding of Cloud computing, PaaS design principles and micro services and containers
