AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer 5 to be based in our Salt Lake City, UT office.
Perform a variety of engineering assignments in planning and overseeing civil project development, design, construction implementation, operation, and maintenance of diverse heavy and industrial landfill and generally as a lead of a design, analysis or review team on the most complex engineering assignments.
Performs a range of design development, analysis, or review tasks independently.
Responsible for complete designs, analyses, or design reviews.
Proficient in developing CAD 3-D Models for design using Bentley InRoads Software.
Generate complete design specifications for heavy earthworks associated with earthen embankments, stormwater, and industrial landfills.
Proficient in water resources design associated with large earthwork projects.
Understanding of geosynthetic design as related to earthwork projects.
Working knowledge of seismic design on earthen structures.
May train other engineers on technical issues related to the research, design, development, testing and analysis of engineering assignments.
Coordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to develop drawings, specifications and other requirements.
Establish and maintain a filing system or databases as needed for tracking project status.
Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation including design requirements and design reports.
Direct interface and liaison with internal and external customers at all levels from quotation to final design and test activities, design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications.
Conduct site visits and evaluate engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations.
Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.
Prepare, deliver and submit technical papers and perform engineering studies.
Support development of technical proposal and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work.
May organize and supervise a group of employees for a given project, contract or job with overall responsibility for cost, schedule, technical and employee performance.
Position may require travel.
Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test and be capable and willing to submit and pass random fitness for duty screening particularly for drugs and alcohol.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
Licensed PE in any state supported by NCEES.
Minimum of 10 years of job-related experience to include multiple years of design and operations experience.
Proficiencies in civil and geotechnical engineering.
Capable of navigating regulatory compliance issues
Expertise in management, capital planning, financial evaluation, cost management, contract management and budgeting.
Knowledgeable of and capable of implementing Risk Management strategies
Experience in coordinating multi-faceted project requirements; coordinating the requirements with a large staff located in many offices around the country and internationally to meet extremely short time frames for the production and delivery of hundreds of engineering work product documents including drawings, technical specifications, plans, studies, reports, schedules and cost estimates.
Excellent communications and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.Proficient in 3-D CAD modeling using Bentley InRoads Software.
Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be US Citizen.
Experienced in Industrial Landfill Design.
Experienced in regulatory clean-up projects under CERCLA, RCRA, or UMTRA authority.
