AECOM’s Salt Lake City Office is actively seeking a highly motivated mid-level GIS Specialist for immediate employment to aid in conducting watershed studies across Utah and produce FEMA Regulatory and Non-Regulatory Products in a highly collaborative team environment, while routinely collaborating with AECOM professionals across the country. The successful candidate will coordinate with other members of the GIS team and various project managers while working on multiple concurrent projects. There are also immediate opportunities for task management, report writing, and interacting with communities and flood study stakeholders on floodplain and hazard management issues.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and associated software to produce, display, and analyze geographic information
Develop and maintain databases, reports, and mapping
Create, organize, manipulate, and retrieve GIS data for reporting, analysis, and presentation purposes
Perform quality assurance of GIS data and associated graphic components
Use concepts, practices and procedures to extract and provide GIS data to clients
Lead project specific tasks while working closely with project team to meet client deadlines
Maintain an effective and frequent line of communication amongst team members and clients
Data collection, creation, conversion, and editing
Custom GIS development and automation
GIS data interpretation and analysis
Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Watershed Science or other related field with a strong emphasis in Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
4+ years' experience
Experience with ESRI ArcGIS products including 3D Analyst and Spatial Analyst
Experience in watershed modeling and delineating floodplains from engineering models
Strong understanding of spatial data
Knowledge of workflow automation, and model building, and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to track production efforts on multiple projects
Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
Strong desire to work in a fast-paced team environment
Excellent time management skills
Knowledge of FEMA National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP); thorough knowledge of tasks and processes regarding creation of Risk MAP Regulatory DFIRM Mapping and Non-Regulatory (Risk MAP) Products
Proficiency in managing web-based GIS applications
Familiarity with GIS production environments
Basic AutoCAD skills
Familiarity with relational databases
