Point of Care Coordinator oversees the activities of all POC testing, and is a liaison between Nursing, Laboratory, Education, Quality Department and Patient Accounting. The POC Coordinator monitors results and ensures that JCAHO, CLIA and lab billing regulations are met. This person coordinates competency testing, and quality control records and coordinates QI activities with the hospital’s goals.
Licensure/ Certification/ Registration: Current licensure as MT, ASCP, CLS (NCA), MLS (ASCP)
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related sciences including a practical training program.
Effective communication skills, both oral and written. Computer skills necessary. Ability to manage a team and work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care. Strong problem solving skills.
