Accelerate your nursing career by joining our Specialty Training Apprenticeship for Registered Nurses (StaRN) program. Our 12 week Nurse Graduate Program is designed to help you prepare to succeed in an acute care hospital setting. The program is comprised of a combination of didactic training, high definition simulation and clinical preceptorship.
As an RN in our StaRN program, you receive the education and support necessary to develop the judgment, skill and knowledge you'll need to become the highest caliber nurse. You will have the opportunity to be mentored by the best, most highly educated and trained nurses within our facilities.
During the StaRN program, you will work with instructors to complete class assignments, skills training and exercises. Then, you will work with your preceptor during the preceptorship that follows. /Our next StaRN program will begin January 21, 2019. This position will work on our Medical Oncology unit./
Part 1 – Classroom Training (First 5 weeks: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with intermittent home study days)
- Instructor-led classroom training
- State-of-the-art simulation including comprehensive debriefs
- Self-directed learning
Part 2 - Clinical Preceptorship (7 weeks: 3 - 12 hours shifts, Rotating Shifts)
- Conducted in the assigned unit at the hospital
Regular development meetings between the student, the preceptor and your Director
/This position requires a two year, full time commitment. The first year is a commitment to the Medical Oncology Unit at St Mark’s Hospital. The second year is eligible to transfer to another unit at St Mark’s Hospital, or any of our other 180 HCA hospitals around the country./
Required Job Qualifications include: * Current Licensure as an RN in Utah within five weeks of starting the program * Applicants may apply for the program prior to passing the NCLEX exam
