Enterprise Finance drives financial management for the company and maintains and enhances risk and financial controls. Key functions within Enterprise Finance include finance and accounting; Treasury; corporate development, mergers, and acquisitions; Data Management and Insights, the Customer Remediation Center of Excellence, Enterprise Shared Services, Business Process Management, and Corporate Strategy. Enterprise Finance informs shareholders, regulators, taxing authorities, team members, and leaders of the company’s financial performance through earnings releases, investor meetings and conferences, and meetings with regulators and credit rating agencies, following appropriate reporting guidelines. They also maintain and enhance risk and financial controls and lead many of the company’s shared services functions including corporate properties, security, and global services

Data Management & Insights (DMI) is transforming the way that Wells Fargo uses and manages data. Our work enables Wells Fargo to empower and inform our team members, deliver exceptional experiences for our customers, and meet the elevated expectations of our regulators. The team is responsible for designing the future data environment, defining data governance and oversight, and partnering with technology to operate the data infrastructure for the company. This team also provides next generation analytic insights to drive business strategies and help meet our commitment to satisfy our customers’ financial needs.

Enterprise Data Governance (EDG) leads the governance for data management risk across the enterprise. The data governance model includes policy, data issue management oversight, data management risk governance and shared services support across these functional roles, including analytics & reporting.

EDG Policy Team

The EDG Policy establishes the principles for data governance at Wells Fargo and the requirements to effectively govern Wells Fargo's data. The EDG Policy team manages the planning, evolution and roll-out of the EDG Policy, oversees and monitors its implementation, and assess and aligns enterprise data-related policies. To execute on these objectives, the EDG Policy team is comprised of the following, three functional groups:

  • Policy Lifecycle Management

  • Policy Governance & Support

  • Enterprise Data Policy Alignment

The Policy Lifecycle function develops and maintains the EDG Policy strategic roadmap, performs annual review and publication of the EDG Policy, sponsors EDG Policy information sessions, manages and executes the EDG Policy exception and exemption process, and develops and maintains the EDG Policy Major Policy Requirements (MPRs).

The Sr. Enterprise Data Governance Policy Consultant will play a role in driving the development of new content that reflects a deep understanding of the current maturity of the DMI organization as well as broader target state objectives.

Success in this role requires collaboration, understanding of business operations and objectives, strategic and creative thinking and initiative.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform various policy management routines, including: requirements gathering, policy drafting, managing review processes and responding to stakeholder feedback, conducting periodic comprehensive reviews and/or impact analyses, determining areas for alignment with other policy groups, updates to internal processes, and managing EDG Policy communication plans

  • Build and manage cross-functional relationships through consistent and predictable collaboration with front line and independent risk management teams across the Enterprise, and provide oversight through consultation and/or development of supplemental guidance or test scripts to ensure effective monitoring of policy requirements

  • Provide policy subject matter expertise through consultation and/or development of supplemental guidance and training materials to ensure successful implementation of policy requirements

  • Partner with multiple business units to provide an in-depth understanding of the Enterprise Data Governance organization and related data governance polices and standards that impact their operations

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: project management, implementation, or strategic planning

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and understanding of data management concepts, process, tools, and environments

  • Superior project management skills including the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently

  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization

  • Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships

  • Ability to work across multiple lines of business leading large scale initiatives

  • Knowledge and understanding of financial industry associated regulatory standards and agencies

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
