Process patient charts according to paperwork flow needs and established productivity standards

· Welcomepatientandfamilymembersinaprofessionalmanner.Contactthenursingstaffforemergencymedical needsandanswerpatientandvisitorquestions

· Interviewincomingpatients,his/herrelatives,orotherresponsibleindividualstoobtainidentifyinganddemographicalinformationwithinsuranceandfinancialinformation

· AssignInsurancePlans(IPlans)accurately

· SearchMPIcompletelyandassignthecorrectmedicalrecordnumber.NotifyHIMforanyduplicateunit numbers

· Verifyinsurancebenefitsanddeterminespre-certification/authorizationstatusviaon-lineorother resources.Ifpre-certification/authorization/notificationofadmissionisrequiredandhasnotbeenobtained, initiateviaPassport,on-lineorphonecall.-Enterallinformationandauthorization/referralnumbersintotheregistrationsystem.

· Secureallsignaturesnecessaryfortreatments,releaseofmedicalinformation,assignmentofinsurancebenefits,and paymentofservicesfromlegallyresponsibleparties.Obtaincopiesofnecessaryidentificationandinsurancecards.

· Understand/explainpoliciesregardingservices,pricing,insurancebilling,andpaymentofaccount.Requestfullorpartial paymentforservicesrenderedaccordingtocollectionpolicies.

· FollowsallguidelinessetforthintheCashHandlingpolicy.Producepaperworkoneachpatientfordistributiontoappropriatedepartments.

· Cross-trainedtoregisterpatientsinanyregistrationarea

· Workwithphysicianofficesandancillarydepartments,providinginformationwhennecessaryorforwardingrelevant documents

· Scanappropriateorderin FrontOfficeScanning.

· Escortpatienttohis/herdestinationorreferspatienttoanavailabletransporter
