Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a Gas Turbine Electrical Engineering Technician 6 to work in Code 261 at SWRMC. The position is located at SWRMC in San Diego, CA.

Essential Responsibilities :

  • Provide technical assistance and electrical troubleshooting with the installation, modification, repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and testing. Systems include but must not be limited to the following: New and existing marine gas turbine electrical control systems, electrical components, fixtures, electrical control equipment, and electrical systems that support propulsion plant and associated systems and components.

  • Provide electrical technician support for urgent mission degrading CASREPs or other system and component problems affecting propulsion plant systems.

  • Provide electrical technician support for assessments and inspections such as TMIs, TSRAs, INSURVs, and ICMPs.Assist Ship’s Force with obtaining supply and repair parts information as required.

  • Provide Ship’s Force training on gas turbine controls maintenance and troubleshooting to identify and correct equipment failures.

  • Provide out briefs to Ship’s Force representatives including ship’s officers and supporting personnel to include command management and executive staff.

  • Assist with technical research and resolution recommendations for the DFS program.

  • Provide electrical support for ESR to include work specification review, IDR and CFR resolution, and review of PCPs and other formal work packages.

  • Provide support on gas turbine electrical and propulsion systems and subsystems outside the propulsion plant during periods of high workload.

Minimum Requirements

  • At least thirteen (13) years technical experience with gas turbine electrical systems.

  • Excellent communication and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.

  • Position may require travel.

  • Position requires the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ideal candidate has experience providing engineering services to U.S. Navy or in shipyards.

  • Experience with modern Navy Ship systems a plus (PLCs, electrical controllers, CG 47, DDG-51, DDG-1000, LCS).

  • Preferred candidate is former E-5 or E-6 Gas Turbine Technician Electrical (GSE).

  • Active clearance on hiring preferred.
