We aim to cut the net carbon footprint of our energy products by around half by 2050 and our New Energies business supports this ambition. The Onshore Renewable Power group is looking for a Business Development Manager for Energy Storage projects.
Maintain partnerships with utility scale storage developers and customers
Analyze the project value and feasibility of deploying energy storage
Structure front of the meter (FTM) energy storage contracts; develop opportunities through execution including negotiation of all major agreements (e.g. revenue contract, development agreements, definitive documents)
Lead development by owning the preparation and delivery of competitive offerings and proposals for project offtake agreements
Define working relationships with strategic counterparties and help lead team to manage investment/acquisition of flexible capacity development capabilities in the US
Originate deal flow via developer partners and greenfield activity and drive it through Shell’s internal approval process
Understand US policies for energy storage and actively participate in ESA in coordination with other Shell policy organizations

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, in combination with a MBA is a preferred
8+ years of energy sector experience required; at least two years in the energy storage space
Fluency in modeling storage use cases & value drivers, especially those geared toward FTM storage deals (flexible capacity & non-wires alternatives)
Deep understanding of bulk energy storage competitive landscape
Strong understanding of technical and commercial aspects of energy storage deals
Demonstrated initiative, ownership and focus regarding all tasks and deliverables related to deal closing
Experience originating, negotiating, closing and developing energy storage deals a plus
Experience in sourcing, building, and managing strong industry and customer relationships
Assertive, able to cope with dynamic surroundings, a team player
Travel up to 30%
