Marsh & McLennan Enterprise Risk Management Consultant in San Francisco, California
Intermediate level Enterprise Risk Management consulting position providing risk management solutions to meet client needs. Is directly responsible for independently developing and maintaining the client relationship by providing comprehensive consulting services. Requires knowledge of client's industry, broad knowledge of insurance and knowledge of the range of Marsh resources.
Demonstrate high level of understanding of client’s business
Help clients by serving as a resource on products and services.
Contribute to the analysis of client needs or project outline and suggest suitable approaches or options to consider.
Use facilitative and diagnostic skills to assist clients in the identification and articulation of problems.
Probe beneath surface issues for concerns or issues that may be unclear to the client.
Support implementation team and measurement of results.
Perform tasks on client implementation and measurement of results.
Respect and maintain client confidentiality.
Use systems to organize and track information.
Expected to bill approximately 1200 hours per year to client.
Follow the continuous risk improvement methodology.
Assist in matching products and services to client’s key needs.
Apply objective criteria for measuring important processes.
Participate in the development of pricing of projects and securing appropriate selection of resources.
Participate in the development and securing of client service agreements.
Comply with company policy and procedures for timekeeping, expense reporting and billing.
- Development effective written and oral communications, such as proposals, technical concepts and project deliverables.
Demonstrate a fundamental understanding of internal and external business goals and financial reports and overall strategies needed to attain these goals.
Suggest best practices and resources in a specialty area with identified business need.
Comply with professional standards and best practices within specialty area.
Provide suggestions to team for improving and enhancing business development activities.
Perform research (e.g. reviews annual report, financial data, benchmarking, etc.) for business development purposes.
Provide information to prepare consultants and senior consultants for meetings with clients.
Identify new and expanded business opportunities.
Seek opportunities to develop new skills and broaden and deepen knowledge.
Participate in team environment of continuous feedback and idea sharing.
Participate in external associations to enhance technical abilities.
Participate in team planning and implementation activities.
Openly shares information with others to support group goals.
6 –8 years of relevant experience in Enterprise Risk Management consulting.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Licensing according to company policy or applicable law.
Reputational risk consulting experience from another major consulting firm is desired.

Ability to frame, evaluate and address complex issues quickly.
Ability to deal with ambiguity and develop structure out of broad concepts.
Define potential problems and suggest solutions.
Strong technical and organizational skills (Organization, Resource (People, projects, time) Management).
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (Oral and Written).
Maintain client relations. Proficient in company sanctioned software and systems, as well as relevant use of internet.
Strong attention to detail.
Proficient in English language (speaking, reading and writing).
Capable of self-directed work.
Practice specific skills.
- Travel required (domestic and international travel possible).
