CBRE Environmental Site Assessor - Global Construction EHS Auditor in San Francisco, California


This position will serve as a contracted employee who will work as a vendor onsite at a prominent search engine company, supporting the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) department. Your primary function will be supporting the EHS Global Construction EHS team by performing regulatory and contractual compliance audits on construction sites located primarily in California but may include other states such as New York, Colorado, Washington, Texas, etc.


Primary support for auditing construction projects to the Google Construction EHS program.

Ensure compliance to local laws & regulations, Google EHS requirements and Contractor EHS Plan.

Document all audits using the Construct Secure Inspect database.

Conduct an opening and closing conference with the project team when needed.

Follow action items as a result of the audit to completion.

Document a final compliance report within 2 weeks of audit completion when needed.

Responsible for engaging in EHS commissioning process. This involves ensuring facility and building EHS design requirements are adhered to during the construction phase.

Complete EHS commissioning checklists to ensure EHS systems are integrated per design prior to building ready.

Performs other duties as assigned.


No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate and assign tasks to co-workers within a work unit and/or project.

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

5 years of experience working on major construction projects.

5 years experience working in the field of safety.

Strong knowledge of interpreting and complying with OSHA 1026.

Detail oriented. Able to utilize attention to detail to find and correct problems during on-sight visits with our employees

Excellent written and verbal communication. Confer with owners, violators, or authorities to explain regulations.

Able to maintain daily logs and supplement inspection records with photographs.

Ability to review and interpret plans, blueprints, site layouts, specifications, or construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations.

Evaluate project details to ensure adherence to regulations.

Inspect and monitor construction/residential sites to ensure adherence to safety standards, building codes, or specifications.

Knowledge of databases, Google Docs/Sheets/Slides and experienced on navigating computers.

Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles.

Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions.

Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.


Advanced knowledge of computer software and hardware (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite Products). Excellent time management and organizational skills.

The position requires simultaneously managing electronic deliverables for several ongoing assignments.


Decisions made with understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Responsible for setting own project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.
