The Securities Operations & Accounting group (SOA) in the Controllers Division/Corporate Finance is responsible for the settlement, clearing, custody, accounting and regulatory reporting for securities within the available-for-sale and held-to-maturity investment portfolios, as well as the Wells Fargo funding products (debt) and equities. SOA is responsible for the maintenance, control and data integrity of the related accounting systems of record.

  • Perform accounting activities related to Private Equity investments.

  • Perform daily and monthly accounting analysis processes.

  • Provide information for monthly and quarterly reporting requirements (SEC, Regulatory and internal reporting).

  • Prepare information for compliance with SOX requirements.

  • Requires daily interaction with operations, 3rd party custodians, finance business units and the Equity Funds Group.

  • Reviewing or performing account reconciliations.

  • Recording entries into the accounting systems (Investran and Oracle GL).

  • Gathering and compiling financial data for regulatory reports.

  • Assisting in complex accounting projects in support of business goals.

  • Participating in SOX documentation processes.

  • Prepare Basel III equity template and its related analysis, reconciliation and validation.

  • Participate in special projects (i.e. system conversion and user acceptance testing)

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: finance, accounting, analytics, financial reporting, accounting reporting or risk reporting; or a BS/BA or higher in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, or Business and 2+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: finance, accounting, analytics, financial reporting, accounting reporting or risk reporting

  • Financial services experience

  • Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills

  • Outstanding problem solving and decision making skills

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • An active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
