Summary:

Chenega Professional & Technical Services (CPTS) is seeking aIT Systems Administrator 3to provide oversight and contract support to NASA - AMES Research Center (ARC) within the Information Technology Services. TheIT Systems Administrator 3will work independently of any direct supervision and may provide technical direction and guidance to lower-level systems administrators involved with difficult or complex assignments relative to IT systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:(Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position)

  • Provides windows, MacOS, unix/Linux, and IoT System administration services, including server installation, integration and configuration of the system as well as the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • May require scripting or light programming, participating on project for systems-related activities, configuring operating system security setting/parameters in accordance with security requirements, determining security procedures for specific user applications, installing operating system security patches and antivirus software updates

  • Perform periodic inventory of assigned IT assets and updating asset management database and create scripts to automate system administration tasks. Write and maintain processes, procedures, test/assessment results, presentations, papers, articles and other types of documents as required.

  • Assign passwords and monitors use of resources, backs up files as required and responds to management request for information. Assess other NASA systems for compliance with agency/government IT security policies for ATO.

  • Make business cases for innovation projects. Create and establish an innovation process, including change management aspects.

Minimum Qualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience in Systems administration

  • Six (6) to Eight (8) years’ experience in Administrating multiple operating systems platforms.

  • Mastery understanding of Rick management framework (RMF)

  • Possess an Active Secret Clearance
