Aetna West Region Head of Sales - Meritain in San Francisco, California

POSITION SUMMARY

Lead and coach Meritain's local market sales teams in our West/Mid-America regions to drive market share in the segment of customers who prefer the value proposition of a TPA.

Fundamental Components:

Sets, communicates and executes operational strategy and performance measures in line with company, segment, region and market goals.

Ensures achievement of sales and membership growth goals.

Analyzes competitive environment to support and improve pricing, underwriting and product development strategies as well as sales efforts.

Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with all constituents (producers, plan sponsors, providers, customers, regulatory agencies).

Recruits, attracts and retains a diverse workforce and engages and develops them through mentoring, coaching and making available tools and resources.

Partners with cross-functional team and represents sales to ensure internal and external constituent needs are met. Removes organizational barriers that impact the cross-functional work required to achieve results.

Educates constituents on Meritain specific policies, product information, and procedures as well as industry issues and related current key business issues.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

5-10 years of sales or related experience

Sales management experience preferred

EDUCATION

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Insurance/Life and Health Insurance License is desired

Functional - Sales & Service/Self insured/stop loss products/4-6 Years

Functional - Sales & Service/Management: < 25 employees/1-3 Years

Functional - Sales & Service/Alternate distribution channels/1-3 Years

Telework Specifications:
