Position: Business Development Leader, Arrow Services

Job Description:

The Business Development Leader for the Arrow Global Services organization is a collaborative, influential and experienced role responsible for strategic growth. This position will focus on leading a team of business developers in finding net new customers that have a major impact on the company’s long-term success.

The Business Development Leader will help the business hit aggressive revenue goals while evangelizing the Services strategy. This position will work externally, across industries, representing Arrow’s diverse portfolio of innovative services and products, in developing productive and profitable customer, supplier and partner relationships.

Business development leaders understand the fundamental drivers of the business, customers, partners, and competitors. Their insight is critical to making smart decisions in the pursuit of long-term business value. The interplay among strategy, relationship management, and sales ultimately fuels the company's growth path.

We’re seeking a qualified leader to extend our global reach through expert discovery and exploration of new and untapped business opportunities and relationships. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who will take the lead, use initiative, and help develop multi-million dollar engagements that is accretive to our services business. Highly skilled at sales and business operations, this person will join, and inspire and grow a team of like-minded go-getters to achieve our growth targets.


  • Develop and lead a team of experienced business developers (individual contributors)

  • Work with direct reports to identify, evaluate, and manage business development opportunities, initiatives and partnerships for target clients

  • Manage complex, strategic selling opportunities to new clients

  • Maintain and provide accurate pipeline tracking and status reports on key activities

  • Support the deal negotiation and agreement, liaising with appropriate internal and external partners in the process

  • Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting, and manage to those numbers; meet and exceed established targets

  • Drive effective and comprehensive communication regarding deal progress

  • Utilize metrics to effectively track opportunity and success of deal

  • Monitor and evaluate industry trends and customer drivers

Experience and Qualifications

  • 10 years related experience, a 4-year degree, and/or advanced degree and experience

  • Experience in consultative solution selling (formal training in a sales methodology like Miller Heiman is advantageous)

  • Ability to build new relationships and nurture existing relationships with internal and external clients

  • Well informed of customers’ strategies, business models, objectives, and financial metrics

  • Articulate; must be comfortable calling on and presenting to director and VP-level leaders

  • History of driving innovation and performance through growing relationships and creating strategic business alignments

  • A champion of growth, individual accountability, and transparency

  • Demonstrated ability to influence decision-makers

  • Demonstrated ability to resolve complex customers issues

  • Recognized success exceeding annual targets

  • Demonstrated capability in cross-selling solutions

  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills

  • Strong closing skills and sales cycle management skills

  • Self-motivated and organized

  • Successful track record in B2B sales and negotiation

  • Successful track record in building and growing high caliber business development teams
