SCHEDULE: 0.6 (24 hours per week), SHIFT: Days (No Weekends)

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the direction, planning, development, coordination, and monitoring of all activities associated with POCT (Point of Care Testing) in Good Samaritan and Mission Oaks Hospitals.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS: Valid State of California license: Clinical Laboratory Scientist

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5 years of clinical laboratory experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Comprehensive knowledge of procedures, policies and equipment with regard to POCT. Comprehensive knowledge of general laboratory technical and non-technical principles, practices and techniques. Strong interpersonal skills to interface with physicians, hospital administrators, POCT testing personnel. Ability to work independently and complete projects in a timely manner. Ability to instruct POCT testing personnel. Ability to write clear, consice procedures and policies. Ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and electronically. Ability to identify and analyze problems, identify feasible effective solutions, and choose and implement optimum courses of action. Ability to learn and utilize computerized patient care management system. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Must effectively read, write and verbally communicate in the English language. Ability to cross-train and multitask; seeks education for continued self-development.
