Your Role and Responsibilities

Director Promontory Compliance Risk and Regulatory:


  • Plan, lead, and execute complex engagements involving the identification, development, and implementation of tactical and transformative solutions that provide tangible value in the client’s compliance risk management performance.

  • Manage and deliver multiple engagements or engagements aspects while demonstrating strong leadership, subject matter expertise, quality in delivery, and management of budgetary resources.

  • Act as Promontory’s client point of contact and interact regularly with senior management, executives, and Board members of clients and regulatory authorities.

  • Lead and contribute to business development activities with new or existing clients, including development of new service offerings and solutions.

  • Develop resources through mentorship, training, and engagement execution, and provide effective, actionable feedback to improve performance.

  • Oversee project deliverables and deliver as an individual contributor where expected.

  • Travel as required to client sites in the United States and internationally.

  • Time spent traveling is at least 30 percent.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


  • Compliance risk management experience at a regulatory agency, financial services organization, or consulting firm, including the assessment, development, enhancement, and implementation of compliance risk management programs and associated controls.

  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in consumer laws and regulations applicable to financial services organizations and products, including Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices (“UDAAP”).

  • Proven leadership ability with a commitment to quality in execution and delivery.

  • Experience planning, managing, and executing day-to-day aspects of engagement activities, including project and resource plans, budgeting and invoicing, execution methodologies, deliverables, and presentations.

  • Committed to developing positive relationships with clients and engagement teams.

  • Superior analytical, writing, and editing skills with a strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and within all levels of the organization.

  • Strong reputation for integrity and ethics.

Location requirements: reside anywhere in USA and prefer living near a major USA metro city/airport (but not absolutely required - this position does require travel.)



Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 12 + years of experience to include a position in a financial institution(s), consulting/accounting/law firm(s), and/or government agency.

  • 12 + years working in an unstructured environment where engagement leaders are expected to identify and develop innovative solutions to client challenges. Proven Track record.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • MBA, PhD, JD or equivalent is preferred
