The occupational health nurse clinician is an essential role encompassing the application of the nursing process to direct care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses. In addition, the clinician collaborates with other members of the occupation health team to maintain a safe and healthful work environment. The nursing diagnoses are the basis for planning and managing employee health care through the development of a nursing care plan. Goals and objectives are mutually identified by the occupational health nurse and the worker, and action/methods to achieve them are then determined.

_LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS_: Minimum: Current CA RN License or Current CA LVN license with RN in progress. BCLS Preferred: COHN-S

_EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS_: Preferred: 2 years

_EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS_: Minimum: AA in Nursing

_KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS_: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving, critical thinking ability, knowledge of workers’ compensation laws, OSHA regulations
