Verizon Public Safety Solutions Lead in San Jose, California

What you’ll be doing...

Design and architecture lead for providing end-to-end public safety product offerings for the Verizon Smart Communities (VSC) division. The span of this role includes translating business requirements into the technical architecture. Developing the tools and process for deployment and operation support for Verizon Public Safety products. The role with lead the architecture/design, evaluation and validation of vendor solutions, developing & testing or software and hardware, creating technical configuration standards, and leveraging internal Verizon assets and partner technologies to deliver end to end Safe City solutions. This position will collaborate with various teams, internal and external, to drive to the delivery of Verizon Public Safety Products.

  • Develop and integration between multiple technologies to create end to end solutions for Public Safety.

  • Lead the testing of features along with vendor functionality based on needed use cases.

  • Lead the develop & documentation of standard configuration parameters.

  • Staging and managing demo and test/dev environments.

  • Support beta customer deployments.

  • Develop tools for deployment & support teams.

  • Translate Product Manager requirements to a deliverable solution.

  • Work with product management and product engineering teams in the solution engineering efforts.

  • Define product validation policies so as to deliver products that meet system and project expectations.

  • Assist technical team with issues needing technical expertise or complex systems knowledge.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.

  • 10+ years of engineering experience with solution architecture and delivery.

  • Prior experience delivering complex end to end integrated architectures across different platforms and applications.

  • Experience with Video Management System administration, configuration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, preventative maintenance, and security procedures.

  • Experience with video analytics or computer vision administration, configuration, troubleshooting, and tuning.

  • Experience in video surveillance design and implementation inclusive of camera configuration, video & codec standards, storage management & modeling, security, and redundant systems.

  • Firm understanding of IP communication in complex environments.
