SCHEDULE: PRN (Per Diem), SHIFT: As Needed
This position coordinates and facilitates Medical Staff Quality Review Committee, which includes case review, physician and specialty specific tracking, trending and reporting of case review. This position also is responsible for the abstraction, analysis and presentation of mandatory outcome measures. This position has the awareness of and the ability to locate public website information.
CurrentCaliforniaRN or LVN License.
CPHQ Certification desired.
2-3 years experience in Quality Management, Case Management, Risk Management, or related area.
BA/BS Degree and/or equivalent capability through experience and/or education.
Knowledge: Current hospital specific Peer Review Policy and Procedure, methods, organizational and Medical Staff committee structure. Core Measures, Patient Safety and Leapfrog initiatives. Federal, State, County regulatory bodies’ rules/regulation related to the performance of case review and Medical Staff performance improvement. (JCAHO, Title 22). Organizational & functions of acute care hospital with comprehensive range of patient care services. Aware of policy & procedures regarding chain of command, job responsibilities, and hospital performance improvement.
*Skills: *Ability to work with minimal supervision while exercising effective decision making initiative, diplomacy, tact, delegation, and organizational skills. Ability to perform first level care review using RN clinical skills. Ability to use MediTech applications. Ability to interact well orally and through written correspondence with all aspects of the organization. Ability to use Internet application for outcome measurement abstraction. Ability to use standard computer applications. Facilitate and direct Medical Staff Peer Review Committees.
