Pearson has an exciting opportunity available in our San Jose, California office. We are looking for a temporary Transcription Coordinator to help manage an intensive transcription project for a duration of 3 to 4 months. The project will begin late January 2019 and extend through April 2019. This is a unique opportunity to develop and enhance your transcription skills and you will also acquire some awesome niche training in this role! Temporary projects are not benefit eligible, but there are some cool perks to this position:

The main duties of the transcription coordinator include transcription, transcriber management and internal quality checks and reviews. This person will be trained according to internal transcription procedures and will report to the Test Development Manager. This manager has an open door policy and is easily accessible, but also encourages independence in role. This job is meticulous and requires you to be well organized and detail oriented. Strong typing and communication skills, both verbal and written, are required. You need to be comfortable working with computers and have the ability to efficiently use MS Office applications, specifically Excel. Further qualifications are listed below:

Minimum Qualifications:

2 years of post-secondary education

English fluency (must read, write, and speak fluently)

Typing accuracy with a minimum speed of 50-60 wpm (assessment test required)

Ability to work at least 30 hours per week

On site environment is open concept; must be able to work in a noisy/ loud environment

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree

Language training

Previous transcription experience

Teaching experience in ESL or English

Knowledge of Spanish
