Eaton Corporation Supervisor SCM in San Luis Potosi, Mexico

Eaton’s Solutions division is currently seeking a SCM Supervisor to join our team. This position is based at our San Luis Potosí facility.

The SCM Supervisor is responsible for Maintains a strong understanding of laws and regulations related to import/export in México. Is accountable for the fulfillment of Trade Compliance for the 16 legal entities in Eaton Mexico, through the coordination of internal Audits, executing monitoring programs of the certifications such as AEO, implementing continuous improvement, developing, standardizing or by improving processes to make more efficient the current operation as needed.

The GTM Customs Leader provides technical expertise related to import/export laws and regulations is also responsible for provide functional support to the GTM analyst of the 27 sites corresponding to the 16 legal entities, regarding to any trade compliance requirement received from the Authorities; the GTM customs Leader maintains and expands strong relationships with appropriate governmental organization, brokers, firms or any other organization that interact in trade compliance mater.

The GTM Customs Leader will be the liaison between the business and the authorities, firms, or any other organizations as needed, the GTM Customs Leader as well, will perform a deep analysis to any requirement from the authorities and will consolidate all documentation related to meet all the deliverables in time and in compliance to the current legislation, in order to avoid any risk for the business.

The GTM Customs Leader, evaluates processes to identify opportunities to reduce risks and/or costs for import/export activities and base on that, conduces projects to improve the current operation according the legislation; develops and implements process changes or policies and guidelines, to capture such

opportunities.

The GTM customs Leader will consolidate and keep updated all the legal documentation regarding to trade compliance for all the legal entities and all the sites in México, designing a documentation Matrix that the company must to keep in order to support any internal or external Audit of Trade Compliance.

The GTM customs Leader advises to the business to capture new opportunities and meet current needs in a compliant manner at minimal cost, also will support to the business if any audit in site is received regarding to Trade Compliance in any of the 16 legal entities in Mexico.

Additionally, this position will give training in Trade Compliance as needed, and will keep informed to the business If there is any change of the customs law, that may affect the group.

Some activities related with the position will be:

  • Develops and executes AEO internal Audits for all certified legal entities in México.

  • Responsible for define the internal audit program.

  • Coordinates and execute internal Audits of Trade Compliance.

  • Designs the legal framework to support the Trade Compliance.

  • Consolidates and keeps updated all the legal documentation regarding to trade compliance for all the legal entities and all the sites in México.

  • Executes monitoring programs of the certifications such as AEO.

  • Implements the continuous improvement by developing, standardizing or by improving processes to make more efficient the current operation as needed.

  • Leads internal committees such as training, regulations, continuous Improvement.

  • Receives requirements from the governmental Authorities of the 16 legal entities and provide functional support to the business consolidating all the legal documentation required.

  • Answers in time and manner any requirement from the governmental Authorities base on the current legislation.

  • Maintains and expands strong relationships with appropriate governmental organization, brokers, firms or any other organization that interact in trade compliance mater.

  • Advise in any procedure with the governmental authorities to executes import/export, such as, import/export licenses, R8, annual reports, etc.

  • Evaluates processes to identify opportunities to reduce risks and/or costs for import/export activities and base on that.

  • Conduces projects to improve the current operation according the legislation; develops and implements process changes or policies and guidelines.

  • Gives counseling to the business in any doubt regarding to Trade Compliance.

  • Gives training in Trade Compliance as needed, and will keep informed to the business in any change of the customs law.

  • Conducts meetings with business other areas to coordinate efforts and ensure the correct communications between parties.

  • Advises the business to capture new opportunities and meet current needs in a compliant manner at minimal cost, working in projects for that.

  • Supports to the business if any audit in site is received regarding to trade compliance in any of the 16 legal entities in Mexico.

  • Maintain safe, clean working environment in compliance with all Eaton safety standards, Life Saving Rules, and daily 5S+ requirements to help build a Zero Incident Culture

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Eight to ten years In Trade Compliance experience. Demonstrated proficiency in US and Mexican customs regulations as well as other government agency regulations.

  • Strong understanding of laws and regulations related to import/export in México.

  • One to Two years’ experience in project management l (Six sigma Project, ITPM, etc), applying structured approach for tracking, planning, monitoring and reporting.

  • Deep knowledge in certifications such as AEO & IVAIEPS

  • Must be able to work in a process-driven environment.

  • To be able to interact with various levels within the organization on a technical and business context.
