Preferred Qualifications

The Sales Operations Analyst I will reside in San Mateo or Santa Monica and report to the Director of Sales Operations. The areas of focus will be quota, commission and reporting for the global sales.

The Sales Operations Analyst responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare and distribute commission plans with thorough understanding of dependencies and intricacies in relation to the Incentive Compensation System

  • Administer monthly/ad hoc quota changes

  • Maintain and evolve Excel quota files

  • Identify needs for quota exception approvals and obtain from senior executives, as needed

  • Investigate and resolve commission inquiries as arise

  • Performs staff support activities needed for the development, implementation, communication and administration of sales commission or incentive programs, plans, policies and quotas

  • Communicate effectively with sales organization and across finance and accounting organizations

  • Contribute to the development or improvement of systems to effectively track or capture data.

Qualifications

Additional Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in quota management and commission calculation,

  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • Experience working in a Sales environment or interacting with sales professionals a plus

  • Keen attention to detail and ensuring accuracy

  • Ability to multitask and work effectively within a fast growing organization.

  • Team player with good interpersonal skills, works effectively with others across the organization.

  • Able to work flexible hours to provide coverage for sales centers in NA, EMEA, and APJ

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Calculates commission/incentive award payments to sales personnel based on commission plan provisions.

Calculates commission/incentive award payments to sales personnel based on commission plan provisions. Performs staff support activities needed for the development, implementation, communication and administration of sales commission or incentive programs, plans, policies and quotas. Reviews commission payment reports for accuracy and completeness. Able to verify and follow through, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of commission payments as outlined in the plan. Resolves reconciliation issues. Typically maintains or audits information needed to track revenue. May analyze sales performance results, prepare commission expense reports, presentations and recommendations for sales and/or finance management. Typically uses spreadsheets, ERP systems or dedicated computer programs to gather data for payment calculation or analysis. May contribute to the development or improvement of systems to effectively track or capture data. May perform cost analysis or modeling of alternative commission/incentive plan design or quota levels.

Job duties are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. May have project lead role. 5 years relevant work experience. BS/BA preferred.
