Oracle Product Manager/Strategy 4-ProdDev in Santa Clara, California
Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.
As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

This position is for a role on the Linux product management team. This position requires:
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Organization and time management. Candidate must be capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines concurrently
Knowledgeable about Linux and open source software
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, CoreOS, or similar technologies is desirable
A minimum of 3 years product management experience (required)
In this role, the candidate will work closely with a team of product managers to define, develop and deliver new services and tools related to microservices and DevOps. The candidate will be responsible for developing use cases and creating requirements using input from multiple sources (customer requests, strategic vision and competitive market analysis). Candidate will collaborate with supporting groups (engineering, QA, documentation, marketing and sales) to develop milestones and roadmap deliverables to ensure execution of the business strategy and timely delivery of features. The candidate should have a technical background and be capable of learning new technologies quickly and working on aggressive timelines and schedules.
