OCI, Virtual Networking team is responsible for delivering innovative networks
with high performance characteristics that exceed those of our competitors.
Virtual Networking team delivers Network-as-a-Service that
handle planning, provisioning, life cycle management and security of our
customers' network infrastructure. We are shaping the management of
network infrastructure by providing the flexibility and simplicity of a virtual
network but with the manageability and control of a software defined network
Description of the Role: What would the candidate work
on if s/he joined your team?
On this team, you will incorporate the ethos of software
engineering and apply it to large-scale operations problems. Your primary goals
are to create highly reliable and ultra-scalable software systems to manage the
operations of our services. When not working on operations, you will be working
on software engineering tasks such as design and development of systems that
increase our reliability, scalability and reduce operational overhead through
automation. The ideal candidate would be a proficient programmer who has large
breadth of knowledge and experience including areas such as networking,
internet protocols and Linux systems. You will be expected to be a close
partner with service owners in all aspects of service operations and ownership.

Driveplatform maturity for multi-user collaboration and planning experiences,data pipelines, data integrations, API services and other data distributionservices
Managingand triaging tickets. Driving prioritization and execution of work basedon impact
Scalesystems sustainably through mechanisms such as easy to use tooling andautomation.
Workin concert with service developers to evolve systems/products for betterscalability, reliability and development velocity
Drivenew runbooks to help reduce mean triage time of incidents. Prioritize andautomate high hit count runbooks
Practicesustainable incident response and drive root cause analysis
Monitor and enforce SLAs
Develop deployment pipelines, drive andconstantly improve deployment process in public cloud environment'
Provideongoing assessment of solutions usage to determine feature updates anddeprecation
BSdegree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding orequivalent practical experience
Understandingof Linux operating systems and Linux system administration
Strongunderstanding of Linux/Unix commands
Systematicproblem-solving approach, strong communication skills, a sense ofownership and drive
Deepunderstand of service metrics and alarms through the development ofdashboards, service KPIs, alarming systems
Experienceworking in an operational environment with mission critical tier oneservices with associated pager duty
Experiencein SDN, NFV, Cloud Networking
Experienceworking with large cloud platforms like OpenStack, AWS, Azure, GCP
Experiencebuilding and operationalizing highly available, scalable, reliable andautomated tooling experiences through multiple project cycles
Demonstratedability to work in ambiguous situations across organizational boundaries
Attentionto detail with drive for results
Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
