Monsanto Category Manager in SANTA FE, Mexico
Job Summary: This position leads the strategic sourcing activities for Seed Production Services, Capital, and Contingent Labor for Latin America North (LAN). This includes sourcing services needed to ensure continuing operating performance, with the goal of achieving significant initial cost reductions, while improving product quality and service levels.The Category Manager works closely with key stakeholders to develop effective cost reduction strategies and implementation plans. The Category Manager’s primary responsibility is to utilize strategic sourcing best practices extrapolating real savings while making effective supply base decisions. This includes direct savings captured through consolidating company-wide purchasing volume and applying operational and commercial total cost of ownership levers to reduce cost and managing contracts with suppliers.This position is located in Mexico City office as required and will be responsible for High annual spend and will report directly to the NA Seed Production Service Category Lead. Responsibilities:
Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment and collaborate effectively across different organizational levels, functions, businesses, and geographies to realize procurement goals and objectives.
Team in business. Responsible and accountable to business stakeholders to deliver supplier sourcing strategies to support business priorities. Explore current and new supplier options.
Develop and implement strategies that optimize total cost of ownership year-over-year for assigned spend categories that achieve stated goals and targets.
Financial and business analysis of supply basis and support the establishment of the forecast for the budget cycles.
Develop and implement regional Category sourcing strategies and interacts with regional teams of professional buyers to ensure implementation and execution of project ideas.
Ensure with business unit leadership to monitor compliance as key mind set and work with business unit leadership to monitor and ensure contract compliance and ensure FCPA. (This includes ensuring local and federal laws) as well as insuring procurement policies and processes.
Support Monsanto's Corporate Responsibility efforts in Supplier Diversity, Sustainability and Safety
Manage supplier development/relationships to ensure continuity of good and services that meet the quality, service and price performance standards of the company
Recognized leader in Procurement that mentors other growing Procurement professionals.
Required (Basic/Minimum Qualifications):
BA/BS in Supply Chain Management/Business/Engineering or related field required Successful 5-7 year track record in a global procurement organization
Negotiation and Contract Management Skills
Able to work in a dual reporting matrix environment and aggressively take the lead on implementation of savings opportunities that affect numerous lines of business
Advanced Leadership and Emotional Intelligence
Independent self-starter; able to organize resources to accomplish ambiguous tasks
Ability to identify root causes to issues and proactively resolving problems, leveraging cross-functional business partnerships
Ability to communicate persuasively with strong interpersonal skills
