Eaton Corporation Design Engineer MCCBs in Sarbi, Romania

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

  • Executes all necessary product line support and technical product / platform documentation for Breakers and high amperage Power Switching

  • Drives and leads NPD or cost out projects of existing MCCB products

  • Develops new innovative ideas to improve MCCB products and ensure Eaton's Intellectual Property

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supports the EATON business by new product development

  • Generates, implements and validates design concepts based on incremental innovations

  • Analyzes design concepts under economical, quality and manufacturability criteria

  • Creates CAD models and design documents using 3D-CAD and CAE systems

  • Establishes regular communication meetings between R&D Romania and MCCB and ACB product lines

  • Handles and coordinates the sample and prototype preparation for the design evaluation tests

  • Supports the production lines in terms of design related quality issues

  • Cooperates with external suppliers, industry peers and scientific community

  • Runs projects by using Eaton's project management system PROLaunch and creates relevant required documents

  • Acts as a project team member in PROLaunch projects

Qualifications

  • University degree in electrical or mechanical engineering

  • Solid knowledge about mechanical designs

  • Experience with state-of-the-art 3D-CAD systems

  • Goal-oriented way of working as a team player

  • Good communication and presentation skills

  • Willingness to learn and acquire new skills

  • Fluent in written and spoken English

  • German language skills are a plus

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office

  • Is capable of handling a high volume of work and able to work on multiple subjects in parallel

  • Collaborates with other technical departments in EMEA and globally

  • Willingness to travel 10% of the working time
