Position Summary:* Practicing in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, Georgia Nurse Practice Act, Professional Standards, Code of Ethics for Nursing, and the institution’s nursing philosophy, Professional Practice Model and patient care delivery model and nursing strategic plan. The Director works under the direction and in collaboration of the CNO/ACNO create a work environment within the critical care division that facilitates and encourages team members to demonstrate accountability for their roles and responsibilities, practice, an environment that empowers team members at all levels of the organization to utilize critical thinking and participate in decision making that effect patient care. The Director is responsible for operational effectiveness of the Critical Care Division. The Director works with the CNO/ACNO to develop implement and evaluate care strategies, professional practice and patient care delivery models and clinical quality initiatives, professional development opportunities and research initiatives. The Director assures responsibility to serve in leadership roles for specific initiatives/projects as assigned. The Director collaborates with other key leaders and disciplines to enhance quality patient care in the Critical Care Division. The Director serves as mentor to managers and team members, and participates in organizational professional and community initiatives to improve the quality of patient outcomes. Complies with the Memorial Health Compliance Program, related policies and procedures and the Code of Business Practices; reports instances of perceived and actual non-compliance to Team Leader or through other reporting mechanisms.

Education Required: Registered Nurse with Bachelors Degree
Education Preferred: Masters Degree in health related field
License/Certification Required: Registered Nurse, licensure in the state ofGeorgia.
Special Skills Required: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization. Ability to make formal and informal presentations. Must possess analytical skills in order to assess data related to performance and financial outcomes. Ability to determine cost effectiveness and resource utilization patterns. Experience Required: At least 5 years’ patient care experience. At least 5 years progressive management experience.
