Position Purpose:

The Corporate Communications/Media Relations intern will assist the Corporate Communications department with researching and writing news releases, responding to media inquiries and coordinating the release of company information to the media. This position will also assist with supporting and executing the company’s social media strategy.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  • Research and write articles for external and internal audiences

  • Edit articles, content and other materials as assigned

  • Assist with content research, preparation, publication and distribution of social media, electronic and print materials

  • Assist with web and social analytics and reports

  • Assist with implementing the company’s overall media strategy

  • Assist with general office administrative and other tasks as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements:

Education & Training Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, corporate and organizational communications or similar.

  • 3.0 GPA or higher required.

  • Junior level or above.

Experience Requirements:

Proven computer and organizational skills. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Keynote, photography and Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
