_BASIC PURPOSE_: The* *Patient Care Partner (PCP) provides both direct and indirect patient care as delegated and supervised by the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. The PCP is responsible for health unit coordination by promoting collaboration and efficiency on the nursing unit and demonstrating mastery of time management, organization, customer service and problem resolution. Complies with the Memorial Health Compliance Program, related policies and procedures and the Code of Business Practices; reports instances of perceived and actual non-compliance to Team Leader or through other reporting mechanisms.

Education Required High School Graduate or GED Education Preferred Preceptor Development Course preferred. License/Certification Required Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) for health care providers issued by American Heart Association (AHA).
Current Patient Care Tech certificate, OR; Proof of EMT course completion OR; Proof of Medic course completion OR; Proof of Nursing Aide course completion and 2-3 years’ experience in an acute care environment (i.e. Hospital) within the last 5 years. These certifications are not required to be maintained after date of hire.
RN/LPN grads may qualify for PCP roles in lieu of PCT certificate so long as they operate solely within the scope of practice of a PCP. License/Certification Preferred
