Consistently utilizes Patient and Family Centered Care principles and practices as our model of patient care. * Delivers the prescribed dose of ionizing radiation using a variety of complex therapeutic equipment (IMRT and MLC): prepares room and equipment, verifies accuracy of patient set-up and machine parameters, maintains daily treatment records and other records as required to document the course of treatment. * Assist in tumor localization utilizing simulation and topographical landmarks. Calculates dose and treatment unit settings from radiation oncologist’s prescription as needed. * Documents accuracy of treatment by means of micro dosimetry and verification films. * Assists radiation physicists by monitoring treatment unit output, beam quality and alignment. Documents acceptable parameters and reports deviations to physicists and/or supervisor. * Observes and reports any unusual or adverse reactions. Reinforces patient education. Understands and demonstrates skill in appropriate methods of care for pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. * Instruct students in the safe use of treatment techniques. Completes student evaluation forms on time.


Education Preferred * Bachelor of Science in Radiation Therapy License/Certification Required * Certification from American Registry or Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy * BLS EXPERIENCE: * Use of IMRT and MLC
