Expected timeline for our internship selection period:

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Quality Engineering intern students at Gulfstream Aerospace are considered to be an integral part of the staff, and as such, are provided with tasks that are both technically challenging and educationally stimulating. Under guidance of the senior quality staff, the students will be assigned to assist with process improvements, root cause investigations, problem solving and other projects.

  • Conduct research, investigation, and analysis in connection with assigned projects, to ensure conformance to requirements

  • Help develop plans and recommendations for process improvements

  • Generate and analyze technical data and perform analysis on technical data to identify opportunities to address and improve quality issues and processes

  • Support of Root Cause and Corrective Actions / Investigations as necessary

  • Interface with other internal organizations such as manufacturing, marketing, service, product support and purchasing as well as external customers and suppliers when required

  • Ensure quality policies are being practiced; provide recommendations and implement procedures to improve quality

  • Initiate and maintain accurate daily/weekly activity status based on work output, as required

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited institution majoring in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, Systems Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related curriculum

  • Applicants must have completed their sophomore year by May 2019

  • May 2019 graduates will not be considered and are encouraged to apply to full-time positions

  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 at the time of application and it must be listed on the submitted resume

  • The candidate should have excellent basic engineering, scientific and mathematical skills and be conversant with CAD tools, Microsoft Office software, and engineering analysis tools.

  • Must exhibit a strong work ethic, be self-motivated and demonstrate an ability to work independently, or with minimal supervision

  • Must have strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • They should have a proven record of high achievement and team work

  • Must have their own transportation to and from work each day. They should not rely on roommates, other students, or Gulfstream employees for transportation

  • Must be available at least 12 weeks through the Summer Internship
