Current Need

Provides first level response and consultation for day-to-day employee relations questions and concerns. Reports to an Employee Relations Manager and will be preferred to be on site in Scottsdale office and will be supporting clients in multiple locations based on business needs.

Position Description

  • Respond to all first level non-third-party ER issues received from HR call center, managers, HRBPs and other employees, for assigned business(es).

  • Investigate and resolve ER issues, to include: gathering and analyzing evidence, applying relevant laws, policies and past practice to reach conclusions.

  • Interpret and apply understanding of corporate policy, employment law, and other regulations to provide immediate advice, guidance, or clarification for ER inquiries.

  • Provide consultation, guidance and coaching to supervisors, managers and HRBPs to address employee behavior and performance concerns; provide guidance and assist with the development and delivery of appropriate feedback or corrective/disciplinary actions.

  • Maintain required documentation within case management system, including intake and investigative notes, supporting documents and final reports.

  • Serve as mediator and apply interventions to resolve low risk employee disagreements, conflicts, or misunderstandings.

  • Escalate ER issues that meet pre-defined criteria and use judgment to assess risk and sensitivity of ambiguous cases determining when to escalate to ER management.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum of 5 years related experience

Critical Skills

  • 4 years’ direct Employee Relations responsibility or related HR experience

  • 2 years’ experience using HR Applications such as People Soft or Workday or similar

  • Ability to conduct HR investigations

  • Ability to communicate with employee managers both written and verbally regarding sensitive or complex topics.

Bachelor’s degree required – Preferred Degree in business or industrial relations, HR, public relations, or related field.
