Short Description

_Schedule/Shift:_ Sun-Thurs 7:30-4PM

Key Accountabilities

  • Investigates complaints and determines corrections action per company procedures.

  • Locations, marking company facilities associated with PA One Call System (includes overseeing and doing).

  • Set up or direct the set-up of barricades and places safety lights around work site to protect workers from street traffic.

  • Operations of valves and fire hydrants.

  • Operations of pneumatic or electric tools.

  • Completes all necessary forms, sketches and field notes and be knowledgeable of usage of maps and records.

  • Investigates complaints and determines corrections action per company procedures.

  • Any other duties assigned by supervisors.

Knowledge / Skills

*Required Knowledge:*

  • Generally knowledge of water hydraulics and distribution system repair and maintenance practices.

  • Familiar with Penndot publications for setting up traffic control.

  • Familiar with Company forms and can properly complete.

  • Know of maintenance procedures for a variety of hand tools.

_ Preferred Knowledge:_

  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of WB/Scranton distribution system components.

_ Required Skills:_

  • Good customer skills, demeanor and appearance.

  • Skillful use of hand tools.

  • Possess Valid Pa. Driver License.

  • Ability to comply with company's' attendance and safety policies.

  • Available for 24/7 callout and carryover time.

  • Available to be on call in a rotating schedule.

  • Abilily to use computer and take orders from FRCC.

*Required Experience:*

  • Worked in distribution related work for three years.

_ Preferred Experience:_

  • Time in Network Department.

  • Valve and hydrant repair experience.

_ Required Education:_

  • Vocational education, apprentice training, on the job training.

  • Able to do basic math. High School or equivalent.

  • Read and understand instructions, safety rules, maps, diagrams, etc.

_ Preferred Education:_

  • DEP Distribution License

Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions

  • Must be able to pass DOT Physical

  • Lifting 100 lbs. with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

  • Wet and humid: Wet contact with water or other liquids.

  • Humid: Atmospheric conditions with moisture content sufficiently high to cause marked bodily discomfort.

  • Noise and Vibrations: Sufficient noise, either constant or intermittent, to cause marked distraction.

  • Hazards: Situations in which individual is exposed to the definite risk of bodily injury.

  • Exposure to: Odors, toxic conditions, chemicals dusts or dusts or poor ventilation. Ability to work in confined spaces.
