As a Business Operations Program Manager on the Data Center Operations Business team, you will analyze colocation data by collecting, monitoring and documenting historical spend for data center operations and build projects. Your role will include assisting with the business forecasting of data center contract agreements and partnering with our suppliers to provide payment for all services rendered. Your role will be to provide relevant, accurate and timely operational reporting for data center operations to internal partners and leadership.
In your role, you will create new business processes as the organization grows and changes. Duties and tasks are varied and complex, and require the ability to work effectively both independently and as a team. Fully competent in own area of expertise. This is a role where the ideal candidate will support their team members when highly critical needs arise. Five years of project management/business support or related experience preferred. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area
Top Five Requirements
Communication & reporting - provide consistent, relevant and accurate data reporting for both peer and executive levels on a defined monthly rhythm
Project timelines – build out work back plans and drive towards timelines. The candidate of this role must have the ability to self-motivate and drive to tight deadlines, removing blocks and understanding when escalation is needed to avoid scope creep and impact to the delivery of the project
Problem solving - can you see risk and quickly plan how to avoid it? This role is looking for someone that knows how to identify and mitigate risks prior to an impact on the overall project.
Organization – Can you keep a project/ or many projects on track while managing multiple processes, schedules in global time zones, shifting priorities as needed
Change & Process - see opportunities and make change to improve services, writing up new process’s and rolling out effectively to ensure awareness and inclusion are covered
ü Review and understand contracts from suppliers and provide accurate spend forecasts based on terms of agreements (understanding common datacenter costs is an advantage)
ü Pull necessary reports, perform and provide analysis for Manager and Leadership
ü Drive any urgent requests, meetings if needed
ü Extremely detail orientated and understand that there is not much time during the day to
always sit quietly so being good on planning a head is key
ü Support team members when ticket demand volumes increase with contract /order needs for colo build and monthly recurring charge
ü Comfortable with quickly changing priorities and tasks
ü Strong MS Excel skills
ü Curiosity for how systems and processes work and how to utilize them to gain efficiencies
5-8 years’ experience in the business/program management role
Maturity, judgment, negotiation/influence skills, analytical skills, and leadership skills
Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
Ability to succeed through collaboration and working through internal and external
organizations and individuals
Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Provides programs to improve operational efficiency, consistency, and compliance in support of the organization's financial and tactical business objectives. Provides business practices and processes. Develops, communicates, and trains the organization on business practices and processes.
Serve as a liaison with other divisions such as Finance, Contracts, HR, Legal, Shared Services, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing, and Risk Management in an effort to ensure accurate and timely transaction processing. Collect, input, verify, correct, and analyze data to measure key performance indicator actual versus business objectives. Provide updates to management regarding budget to actual, informing them of deviations and opportunities. Provide management with economic impact and compliance issues surrounding key business decisions and/or deals. Communicate Oracle Business Practices to the organization and monitor process and approvals for full compliance. Drive implementation of new processes and procedures.
Job duties are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. May have project lead role. Attention to detail critical. Ability to collect, organize, and display data in spreadsheet format. Follow-through skills necessary to get information from internal and third parties and have data errors/omissions corrected. For this, relationship management skills strongly desired. Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with management and possible clients desired. 5 plus years relevant work experience.
