Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team is a new ground-up effort to build Infrastructure-as-a-Service that operates at high scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. Our customers run their businesses on our cloud, and our mission is to provide them with most secure and best in class compute, storage, networking, database, security, and an ever-expanding set of foundational cloud-based services. These are exciting times in our space - we are growing fast, still at an early stage, working on ambitious new initiatives and can have a huge business impact.

We are looking for experienced engineer to design and build new innovative services and tools from the ground-up required for solving security problems in distributed, multi-tenant services and infrastructure. Our goal is to revolutionize how security is managed at scale and solve difficult problems involved in dealing with different kinds of infrastructure involved in building a cloud i.e. networking devices, virtualized infrastructure, software code, software libraries, docker environments. You should be both a rock-solid developer and a distributed systems generalist, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and low-level systems, as well as design broad distributed system interactions. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.

Basic Qualifications :

  • 7 years in software development

  • 4 years’ experience delivering and operating large software systems at scale.

  • BS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience

  • Proficient in at least one (preferably two) of the following languages: Go, Python, Java, C, C , C#, Ruby, JavaScript, or another object-oriented language

  • Strong grasp of computer science concepts (data structures, algorithms, operating systems, distributed systems fundamentals)

  • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills

Nice to Have:

  • Working familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP), PKI concepts and standard network architectures

  • Working familiarity with UNIX operating system and related tools

  • Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment

  • Familiarity with latest security principles, techniques, and protocols.

Position is located in the Oracle Cloud Development Center Seattle, Washington.

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
