Principal Software Development Engineer (SDE) - Event-Driven Services
The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team can provide you the opportunity to build and operate a suite of massive scale, integrated cloud services in a broadly distributed, multi-tenant cloud environment. OCI is committed to providing the best in cloud products that meet the needs of our customers who are tackling some of the world’s biggest challenges.
We offer unique opportunities for smart, hands-on engineers with the expertise and passion to solve difficult problems in distributed highly available services and virtualized infrastructure. At every level, our engineers have a significant technical and business impact designing and building innovative new systems to power our customer’s business critical applications.
Are you getting stale and bored, maintaining the same old systems and services, slowly bug fixing and add little features month after month? The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Event-Driven Services group is building new, highly scalable and available event-driven platform services for our next generation cloud and we are doing it all from the ground up. Come work with our team and get a deep say in product development, roadmap, design, and implementation of customer-facing services as we carve out new product areas and then build them for our customers.
The OCI organization and platform is Oracle’s push into the cloud: the company is betting their future on us to succeed, and right now our platform is in its very easily stages of maturity and adoption on that road to success. Joining us now enables you to join our startup like environment in Seattle, a little ways away from Oracle corporate, and work with the teams that are building the distributed, cloud-native systems that will bring Oracle into the future. We are a group of small, agile development teams that own our products end-to-end. It’s simple: we start with what our customers are asking us for, then figure out what we should go build, and then build it. No legacy stuff to deal with, no PM deciding your future every scrum. Just you, your team, your dev environment, and a product idea that needs to get out to our customers as agile as possible.
As a Principal SDE (aka Principal Member of the Technical Staff), the team will be looking to you to take large chunks of our new services, work with teams across OCI to make sure we create the right thing for our customers, figure out how we should design it, then own and drive implementation in your team. Two of our core values are Act Now, Iterate and Nail the Basics. We highly value engineers who can take large, ambiguous, distributed systems problems and tackle them without hesitation. We want to ship the right thing for our customers quickly, then build it out so that we can truly compete in the cloud.
This is an exciting time to join OCI as we continue to grow as a team, build and operate new cloud services, and provide our engineers opportunities that you can’t find in most other roles. We are building Oracle’s future and we hope you are interesting in joining us in that adventure.
