We are currently seeking a Sales Associate Pacific Northwest branch to drive additional sales and margin through outbound phone work, handle various sales administration duties and potentially develop into an outside sales position for the company after demonstrating success in this role.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Contacts prospects and customers to initiate the sales process.
Assists the branch in developing new business opportunities through cold calls and leads.
Minimum of 20 hours a week on the phone top various accounts:
Zero balance accounts
Product/vendor and sales training
In person cold calls / job site visits
Joint sales calls with Outside Sales
Maintains contact with the customer through sales calls as required.
Establishes a line of contact and comfort level between the customer, our inside sales staff and other customer support personnel.
Develops new and existing skills through educational programs with both company provided and vendor supported training.
Assists in regional and branch specific marketing programs/initiatives.
Identifies ways in which Beacon can differentiate itself in terms of value, competitive differentiation and product offering in our regional markets.
Maintains and conveys relevant competitive sales knowledge directly to the inside and outside sales teams as well as the Branch Manager.
Attends all local and regional sales meetings as requested.
Participates in all training exercises, including role-plays to enhance sale capabilities.
Builds and maintains a prospect database
Utilizes Salesforce for all customer and prospect interaction.
Assists with the processing of orders
Creation and running of sales reports in Cognos

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Contacts - All branch employees, including management, on a regular basis. Outside Sales employees and regional sales coordinators. Director and Officer level employees while attending training.

High school diploma or GED
Preferred candidates will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent experience

Understand and use basic selling techniques: open, probe, presentation, overcoming objections
Understand, apply and synthesize complex data/information regarding customers and markets
