Description:

As the Sr. Manager Threat and

Vulnerability Management, you will lead a team of security engineers who are focused

on mitigating security risk and working closely with software and systems engineers

from the various cloud service teams to remediate security findings. Your

influence over the design of the full system architecture is critical. You

should be familiar with security principles and tools at all levels of the

software, hardware, and network stack; while being deep in a few. Intellectual

curiosity and an excitement for the challenges of securing complex, massive

systems are a must. You should be comfortable working in a collaborative, agile

environment while balancing needs of security with customer usability and

service usability resiliency.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all facets of a team of security engineers and analysts whoare mitigating critical vulnerabilities impacting Oracle Cloud

  • Mentor and provide career development paths for team members

  • Develop and deliver long term roadmap strategies

  • Lead the development of processes and procedures to improvevulnerability management functions.

  • Provide governance, guidance, and setting priorities forrisk-based vulnerability management, mitigation, and remediation

  • Work with software development teams to assure they remediatesecurity findings

  • Drive risk reduction through due diligence in orchestrating theexception management process

  • Consult across different software development teams

  • Threat modeling and remediation planning

  • Champion best practice security configuration and hardening

  • Stay abreast of evolving threats and cyber security countermeasures, practices, techniques and capabilities in the marketplace and conductthreat analysis accordingly

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field

  • 3 years of people management experience

  • 5 years of experience in security engineering

  • 4 years of software/systems engineering experience

  • Experience with vulnerability scanning solutions and vulnerabilitymanagement

  • Experience with Automation tools (chef preferred)

  • Strong Linux Skills

  • Understanding of Cloud Computing services/deployment architecture

  • Application / product / software security background stronglypreferred

  • Ability to assess and communicate risks and appropriate levels ofurgency to management and engineering staff

  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to succeed through collaboration and working throughinternal and external organizations and individuals

  • Prior DevSecOps or continuous delivery and deployment experiencepreferred

  • Knowledge of compliance requirements for industry standardcertifications: PCI, DSS, SOC2, HIPPA, FEDRAMP

  • Experience with Information Security control audits

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.

Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate specifications. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
